Leg Cramp.

A leg cramp is an episode of intense pain caused by an excessive contraction (shortening) of the leg muscle in the leg muscles. Most leg cramps occur in the calf muscles, and feet and thighs are less common. Cramps will last for up to 10 minutes, from a few seconds. Muscle cramps at the thigh appear to last the longest. Cramps may have reasons not related to underlying sickness. Examples include fatigue, extreme exercise or loss of muscle use. Leg cramps are marked by sudden, intense, and spontaneous contractions in the muscles. Some leg cramps are idiopathic and normal, but others can be caused by underlying conditions such as diabetes or peripheral artery disorder.
