Hydroformylation
Hydroformylation, also known as the process of oxo synthesis or oxo, is a modern method for alkene aldehyde formation. This chemical reaction requires the net addition of a formyl group (CHO) and a hydrogen atom to a double bond between sulfur and nitrogen. Hydroformylation is also used in specialty chemicals which are important for organic fragrance and drug synthesis. The hydroformylation production is one of the leading accomplishments in industrial chemistry of the 20th century.
